If I hadn’t already committed to giving up the next 10, ok maybe 20, years of my life – I might just decide to get married, pop out a kid or two, and retire as a domesticated housewife. As let’s face it, my craft time would increase by at least 200% – That’s tempting.
Unfortunately though, along with the crafts, comes screaming babies and dirty diapers. So, at the current moment, I think I’ll pass. Thanks, but no thanks.
Lucky for me, I’ve figured out a way to have my cake and eat it too (pretty much my M.O. these days). Business in the front. Party in the back.
Food, being one of those ways in which we can express ourselves creatively without setting aside an ample amount of free time. Whether it be through plating or packaging – it is essentially, an editable art form. In the case below (or above), I’ve used labeling to make a simple glazed almond recipe something much more. Now – it’s a gift, a portable sack, or just a fancy food for yourself. After all, the better it looks, the better it taste.
Spicy Glazed Almonds
3 C almonds
.25 C honey or maple syrup
2 T palm sugar (optional)
1-2 tsp of cayenne
dash of cinnamon
dash of cacao
sea salt to taste
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients. Dehydrate 48 hours at 105 – or – bake in oven at 350 until crisp (pictured, I have used an oven).
Viola – easy peasy!
In other news – I’ve added a “recipes” application to Rawxy’s Facebook Page. Essentially, I’ll be adding recipes from time to time that will be exclusive to my facebook fans. In order to view, all you have to do is “Like” Rawxy on Facebook and then to your left click on “Recipes” – From there, you will see world’s most boring text application with some not-so boring recipes! This week, I’ve added three smoothies from April’s smoothie class and one dessert from April’s dessert class – Like I posted on my FB wall, you must try the Carrot Cake Smoothie recipe – I believe Vaughn said it best, when he said it was like licking a bowl of cake batter. Ummm, yes – Love!!
Hope everyone is having a great week!
